What to know before you start
How it works
We start with a walkthrough and measurements, talk through how you use the space, and put together a concept for you to react to. Once you are happy with the direction, the same crew that planned it builds it.
Design with the ground in mind
Bay Area yards often mean slopes, clay soil and winter rain. Good design accounts for where the water goes before it chooses the surface, which is why we plan the two together.

Do I get a drawing before work starts?
Yes. You will see the plan and the materials and agree on the scope in writing before construction begins.
Can you work within a budget?
Tell us your range at the start. We can often phase a design so the most important parts are built first and the rest follows later.
Are the renderings on this site real projects?
No. The images on this site marked "Design concept" are illustrations of the kind of result we build, not photographs of completed jobs.
