What to know before you start
Call before you dig
California requires underground utilities to be marked before excavation begins, through the 811 / USA North 811 service. It is a required step on any dig and it protects you and your neighbors.
Soil and slope matter
Hillsides and clay soil change how we dig, where the soil goes and how we control erosion while the work is open. We plan for all of it before equipment arrives.

Questions we hear
Do I need a permit for grading?
Larger grading jobs, changes to drainage patterns and hillside work often need a grading permit. Requirements vary by city and county, and we will tell you what applies.
What happens to the extra soil?
We can haul it off, or reuse it on site for grading or fill where that makes sense. We will spell out which in your estimate.
Can you grade just part of my yard?
Yes. Many projects only need a section of the property prepared, such as a patio area or a drainage swale.
